Scones

Makes around 12 scones


INGREDIENTS:
3 cups plain flour
6 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
50g butter, softened
1 1/4 cup milk
Add 1/2 cup of sultanas/dates/cheese to flour, if you want

METHOD:

Preheat oven at 180 degrees

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Using your hands, rub in the butter until you have a breadcrumb consistency. 

Pour in milk and mix with a knife, till you’ve formed a soft dough. Put dough on floured bench, and knead in loose pieces. Once done, split dough in half and cut into 12 even sized pieces. 

Place each scone on a floured oven tray, and lightly brush tops with milk. Bake in oven at 200 for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. 

Serve with jam or marmite, our kiwi classic. Enjoy
